WELCOME BACK FROM CHRISTMAS BREAK!!!!
Hope everyone had a relaxing and fun break. We have a lot of exciting and important activities coming up. Most importantly, we have to continue to work hard and strive to learn as much as we can by the end of the school year. Remember, at LES LEARNING EQUALS SUCCESS!

Bad weather is upon us, unfortunately. If you are not being notified of school delays/cancelations at home by Sarah the School Messenger, and would like to be, please call the school and we’ll gladly add your home phone number to our list. On days when we do have school, please be here before the 8:00am bell. If your child will be eating breakfast, please be here by 7:45am. It is crucial to your child’s academic success that he/she be here on a regular basis.

Flu Update
Please refer to the county website (claycountyschools.org) for up to date information about cases of flu like absences.
Extra Flu Precautions Taken
During and after school hours, as a staff, we are taking the following extra precautions to help insure the good health of our students:
*sanitizing water fountains after each class use
*students may use water bottles from home
*sanitizing high usage areas (door knobs, sink
handles, keyboards, pencil sharpeners, etc.)
*hand sanitizer in all classrooms
*encouraging good hand washing practices
*modeling good hygiene practices (coughing/
sneezing into sleeve, not touching face, staying
home if sick)
*please do not send students to school if they have
had a fever within the last 24 hours. Students
have to be fever free (without medication) for at
least 24 hours before returning to school.
*If someone in your immediate family has the flu,
please keep other siblings home for at least one
day to see if symptoms develop in them, also.
Please know that we are doing everything within our power to protect all our students from the illnesses that are going around. There are steps parents can take at home, as well. Stay out of crowded places, encourage frequent/thorough hand washing, don’t share drinks/food, sanitize high usage areas frequently. We only want what is best for all children. Please feel free to call the school if you have further questions or would like to help with extra cleaning you may feel is necessary.
Thank you for your support!
